Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was a political and social leader of India. He made important contributions to the country's struggle for independence and led the unification of a united, independent India. In India and all over the world, he was addressed by the name of Sardar.
He was brought up in the villages of Gujarat. Vallabhbhai Patel was a lawyer and during his successful advocacy he was very much influenced by the work and ideology of Mahatma Gandhi, then he organized the farmers of Kheda, Borsad and Bardoli villages of Gujarat, satyagraha against the atrocities of the British. Due to this role, he started to be considered as an influential leader of Gujarat. He then also led the Indian National Congress and led insurgency and political events. He organized the party in the 19th elections and played a leading role in the Quit India Movement.
As India's first Home Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel organized aid for refugees in Punjab and Delhi and led efforts to restore peace across the country. The Sardar united the 7th Autonomous Kingdoms and the princely states of the British Raj and set about building a united India. Due to his frank diplomacy and readiness to use the necessary restraint, the Sardar's leadership coordinated every princely state in India. Known as the Iron Man of India, Sardar is also known in the Indian Civil Service as the center of the pattern as the creator of the All India Service. Sardar was one of the first advocates of free trade and property rights in India.
▪️Family life.
Vallabhbhai Zaverbhai Patel was born at his uncle's house in Nadiad, Gujarat. Her actual date of birth was never recorded but she wrote October 31 as her date of birth in her matriculation paper. He was the fourth son of Hindu father Zaverbhai and mother Ladba. As a child, Vallabhbhai helped his father in the field and also fasted once in two months for those who did not consume food and water. Sardar Vallabhbhai was married at the age of eighteen.
Vallabhbhai Nadiad to complete his schooling. Petlad and Borsad had to go if they lived independently with the other boys. He developed his famous ascetic nature. According to a folktale, he broke a boil that had happened to him without any hesitation, which scared even the barber.
Vallabhbhai's wife brought him from his pier and he started his domestic life in Godhra. Advocated for him during 12 years in Godhra. Vallabhbhai Patel had two children, Maniben and Diabhai. But when the plague broke out in Gujarat, he immediately sent his family to a safe place and left his home and went to an empty house in Nadiad.

When he collected enough money to go to England to study, he booked a license to go there as well as a ticket which came to his elder brother Vitthalbhai Patel in the short name of Vijay Patel. Vitthalbhai also had plans to go to England to study and so he rebuked his younger brother Vallabhbhai saying that it would not be good for the elder brother to go after the younger brother and then Vallabhbhai let his elder brother go in his place keeping in view the family's reputation in the society. He took care of his elder brother's expenses in England and also started saving for himself.
In 1907, Vallabhbhai's wife Zaverba was admitted to a large hospital in Mumbai for surgery for cancer. His condition suddenly deteriorated and he died at the hospital despite the success of the immediate surgery. When Vallabhbhai was given a letter informing him of his wife's death, he was cross-examining a witness in court. According to others who witnessed the incident, Vallabhbhai read the letter and put it in his pocket and continued the investigation. They fought that case and came home only after it was over.
▪️Congress leadership.
When Gandhiji started Dandi Satyagraha, he arrested Sardar from Ras village. He was tried in the absence of witnesses, lawyers or journalists. With the arrest of Sardar and then Gandhiji, the Satyagraha gained momentum and the districts in Gujarat staged an anti-movement till the two were released. After his release from jail, Sardar became the interim Congress president but was soon arrested while leading a Sardar in Mumbai. After Gandhi and Irwin signed the agreement, Sardar was elected president of the Congress at the 191 Karachi session. If Congress ratified the agreement, it would be committed to fundamental rights and human freedoms, the concept of secularism for the country, and the abolition of the minimum wage and the abolition of untouchability and farm slavery. The Sardar used his position to plan for the return of the confiscated land to the peasants of Gujarat. During his imprisonment, a bond of affection, trust and openness was formed between Sardar and Gandhiji which can be described as the brotherhood between elder brother Gandhiji and his younger brother Sardar. ▪️Cabinet mission and division.
Both plans were opposed in Congress when the British proposed two separate plans for the British and the devolution of power. As proposed in the 19th Plan, it was suggested that the federated states be united, or that each province be given greater autonomy and that the provinces be grouped on the basis of a religious majority. According to the 19th Plan, India was to be divided on the basis of religion and the 200 kingdoms were to be given full independence or the option of joining one of them. The Muslim League recognized both plans. When the Congress rejected this plan.
Sardar Patel was one of the few Congress leaders who rejected the partition of India under the leadership of Muhammad Ali Jinnah against the policy of Muslim separatism.
